Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, highest near the Illinois River. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Portions of central and west central Illinois. * WHEN...Until 6 AM CST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A mixture of rain and snow during the day today will cut back on daytime accumulations. This period of rain could cause some of the snow on the ground to melt before the second round moves through late this afternoon into evening, making total accumulations appear to be less.
