Puzzling Adventures are a cross between a scavenger hunt, an adventure race, and an informative self-guided walking tour. Each adventure consists of a series of locations that you are guided to where you are required to answer a question or solve a puzzle to receive your next instruction. Compete as a group, individually or create multiple teams and race each other. Almost all of our adventures are designed to be wheelchair and stroller friendly and all are carefully crafted to be entertaining and informative with something to appeal to all ages. Complete the adventure as quickly as possible to win first place or take your time and enjoy the journey. Price is per team, not per person. Groups can be any size, but small groups are recommended for the best experience.

Submissions must explore themes of a hopeful future, addressing concepts such as peace, unity, environmental harmony, and other positive transformations. We encourage artists to creatively interpret "Manifestations: Our Future" in unique, meaningful ways.
Submission Requirements:

Eligibility:
Open to artists 18 years and older.
All mediums welcome, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, digital art, photography, mixed media, and installation art.
AI-Generated Work: If any part of the artwork is created using AI, a complete description must be provided detailing what portion of the piece was generated by AI and what specific creative input and involvement the artist contributed to the work.

UIS Visual Arts Gallery presents the 2024 silent auction and benefit both online and at the gallery

SPRINGFIELD – The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Visual Arts Gallery is excited to announce its annual silent auction and benefit, featuring a diverse collection of original art, reproductions, decorative objects and crafts donated by artists and community supporters. This year’s auction will be held both online and in person, making it easy for collectors and supporters across the region to participate.
The auction opens online on Monday, Nov. 11, with bidding available through 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. Artworks will be on display at the UIS Visual Arts Gallery from Dec. 2-5 for in-person viewing. A final bidding reception will take place at the gallery from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. All bids must be placed through the auction website.
This year’s offerings span painting, ceramics, glass, photography and more. Proceeds from the auction directly support gallery programming, including ambitious exhibitions by emerging and established artists, as well as student exhibitions. The UIS Visual Arts Gallery invites the community to champion these programs by bidding online, visiting the gallery in person or making a direct donation in support.
The UIS Visual Arts Gallery is centrally located on the UIS campus in the Health and Sciences Building, room 201 (HSB 201). Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday. For more information and future exhibitions, visit the UIS Visual Arts Gallery website.

Rail Splitter Public Service Awards - Call for Nominations

The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) School of Public Management and Policy is now accepting nominations for the Rail Splitter Public Service Awards. These awards pay tribute to individuals who have made major contributions to the betterment of our community. The school will present two awards, one to an individual from the public sector (government and nonprofit organizations) and one to an individual from the private sector.

The public sector award will be presented to an individual who has spent a primary part of their career working in public service; made outstanding contributions on a sustained basis rather than having performed a single exceptional deed; and accomplished or caused to be accomplished significant programs or projects within their areas of responsibility to the ultimate benefit of the general public.

The private sector award will be presented to an individual who has provided leadership and support for community initiatives; facilitated a collaborative approach to working on community issues; and contributed to significant outcomes that benefit our community.

Nomination letters should be submitted to jwang86@uis.edu by December 6, 2024.
